Good bowling, good company, both sides of the border.
Chiles de Las Cruces is a men's bowling club from Las Cruces, New Mexico, and a proud member of the Bi-National Friendship Bowling Association.
About the club
Chiles de Las Cruces goes back to 1965, when bowlers from Las Cruces, El Paso, Juárez, Chihuahua City and Parral began bowling against each other “in the name of friendship.” That friendship became La Amistad, today’s Bi-National Friendship Bowling Association, and Las Cruces has been part of it from the start.
We began as the Las Cruces International club and took the Chiles name around 1980, along with the little chile in a sombrero who is still our logo. In 1990 the wives and daughters of our members started our sister club, Las Ristras de Las Cruces, and since 1996 the club has honored its own in the Chiles Hall of Fame.
Like a lot of clubs, we went quiet during the pandemic. In 2026 we picked the ball back up: new officers, a fresh look at our by-laws, and a roster of men who are glad to be back on the lanes together.
We take our bowling seriously and ourselves a lot less so. Every tournament spot is earned at the roll-off, every member is expected to show up for the club, and every trip ends with a story or two.
What's next
By invitation, from within.
The Chiles grow one member at a time. A new member is proposed by a member in good standing, gets to know the club, and is voted in by the membership. There is no application form.
If you'd like to bowl with us, the best way is the way it's always been done: come out to a tournament, say hello, and get to know the men who bowl for the club.
